New Brunswick students have qualified on several occasions as members of Team Canada competing at the WorldSkills competition.

Currently, Jason Bonnell of Sussex, NB is in the qualification period as a Prospect for Team Canada 2017 which will compete at WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emrates in October 2017.  We will be updating his progress on our social media channels.

Here is a brief history of NB's performances at Worldskills:

In 2002, at the Vancouver national competitions, Charles Bernard (Gloucester Junction,NB -Website Design) and Cheryl Arseneault (Beresford, NB - Esthetics) were selected to Team Canada 2003 which competed in at the 2003 WorldSkills in St-Gallen, Switzerland. Rémy Mazerolle (Beresford, NB) of Team NB was selected as a photojournalist for the event.
At the Winnipeg national competitions in 2004, Marc-André Savoie (Eel River Crossing,NB-CNC Milling) was selected to Team Canada which competed at WorldSkills 2005 in Helsinki, Finland.
In Calgary in 2008, Jason Valdron (Madran, NB-Website Development) and Isabelle Collin (St-Léolin,NB-Esthetics) not only qualified for Team Canada 2009 but also both brought back Silver Medals from WorldSkills 2009 in Calgary. Isabelle Collin also captured the "Best of Nation" award for the best overall score of Team Canada competitors!

In May 2010, Jenica Bubar from Riverview, NB was selected to Team Canada 2011 which competed in London, UK in October 2011. Jenica brought back a Bronze Medal from the Beauty Therapy competition.





In May 2012, Luc Boudreau from Dieppe, NB qualified for WorldSkills 2013 held in Leipzig, Germany. Luc qualified in the CNC Turning category while studying at CCNB Bathurst.


Luc Morin, Executive Director of Skills Canada NB, worked as a floor supervisor at WorldSkills 1999 in Montreal and has been selected as a Team Leader for Team Canada in 2001 (Seoul, South Korea), 2003 (St-Gallen, Switzerland), 2007 (Shizuoka, Japan), 2009 (Calgary), 2011 (London, UK), 2013 (Leipzig, Germany), 2015 (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and 2017 (Abu Dhabi, UAE). 

Courtney Donovan, also with Skills Canada NB, participated as a Social Media correspondant in 2017 in Abu Dhabi as well.
